The science behind GasAbate is peer-reviewed and validated at various stages of development. You can read our published and in-review papers below.
Nolan et al, 2024 *
From lab up to 1m3 demonstrates efficacy with final GasAbate formulation. A similar experiment with 1m3 IBCs has been completed with dairy slurry with a paper in preparation.Agronomy - pig slurry *
Stemming from 1m3 storage trial (Nolan et al), ryegrass yield trials performed; draft to be submitted imminently. Ryegrass yield trials with dairy slurry are currently being performed.UCD-LCA paper - Shinagh Estates dairy farm (FarmZero C) *
Study confirming methane reduction efficacy of GasAbate (under peer review).Shinagh Estates draft paper *
Paper in preparation including methane from full-scale tanks treated with GasAbate at the Shinagh Estates dairy farm.International peer-reviewed conference papers *
Including validation of full-scale biomethane potential of GasAbate-treated slurry and agronomy data. Presented at the 18th IWA World Congress on Anaerobic Digestion (June 2024) and accepted to be presented at the 12th IWA Symposium on Waste Management Problems in Agro-Industries in September 2025.Connolly et al
Lab scale up to 660L testing different peroxide sources and effect of temperature on dosing. These initial experiments included KI in formulation. While effective at methane reduction, the strong reaction b/w peroxide and KI had negative effects on ammonia. KI was not ultimately included in the final commercial GasAbate formulation.- Connolly et al, 2025 - Abatement of greenhouse gases and ammonia from cattle slurry during storage and land-spreading: A pilot scale study

Proof of concept and initial test of oxidising formulations, including hydrogen peroxide alone, in dairy manure with good methane mitigation (SuppMaterial Figure 1)* Papers that contain data from commercial GasAbate formulation applied at pilot- or full-scale.
